BodyCraft is best known for its strength equipment, especially their Platinum series of gyms. Galena Pro, with its quality materials is a basic, no guessing required old-school design.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    BodyCraft Galena Pro Home Gym

The BodyCraft Galena Strength Training System is a home gym that "corners" the market. The BodyCraft Galena literally is designed to fit in the corner of a room, minimizing the space it occupies.

While the leg press and weight stack guards are optional on the Galena, they are included in the price and specs given here because they are such logical additions to the basic unit and are really needed to constitute the Galena as being a true home gym.

One of the most innovative feature of the Galena is the Dual Function Pec Dec, the only one of its kind to offer both traditional flys, performed by pressing the elbows against the pads, and also dumbbell-style flys, done by swinging the handles outward to the chest. Another key specification to note is the company's lifetime-on-everything warranty.

The BodyCraft Galena is one solid piece of equipment, and it's not going to break, so feel free to test its limits.

    BodyCraft Galena Pro Home Gym

    Product Rating:

Pros: Solid, rugged feel, compact size, thorough workout, lifetime warranty, excellent cust. svc.

Cons: None. Would recommend this unit to anyone.

The Bottom Line: This machine should be a top contender for a versatile home gym. Given its durability and space-saving design, it ranks up there with the best.

Mitchf's Full Review: Body Craft Galena Home Gym with Leg Press.

I have been using the Bodycraft Galena with Leg Press 3 to 4 times a week since purchasing it in August 2003. The dealer had actually recommended a Body Solid Machine, but when he tried to install it, it did not fit (Body Solid gyms are 83 inches tall and our ceiling is about 82 inches). Another dealer recommended the Galena as it is 81-82 inches in height. Fortunately, it just fit.

The machine is obviously well built- seems very rugged. There were a couple of minor paint chip blemishes, but the company immediately shipped out a touch-up pen which fixed this. The padding is comfortable and the weight stack goes from 10-200#.

With the leg press along with those accessories which are included (e,g, lat bar etc), you can work every major muscle group. The function is very smooth and I actually look forward to using this machine!

I did not get the stack guards. I just make sure the kids aren't near the machine while it is being used.

Overall, a quality product and an excellent value. Highly recommended. Price listed included delivery and assembly (highly recommend having dealer assemble as it can take hours to do yourself, unless you're into it)

no1missbb's Full Review: Body Craft Galena Home Gym with Leg Press

I just love this machine. It is solid, sturdy, and you get a great piece of equipment for a great price. I have hit the "age" where arthritis had hit my joints, had lost alot of upper body strength, and just could not use alot of these machines that are all cables which required you to have alot of upper body strenth to use them. This machine, no matter what exercise you do, you have something to "hold on to" and each and every exercise is easy for us beginners, and you just work your way up. My husband was amazed by the solidity of the machine, and thought the assembly directions were great. I actually enjoy and look forward to my workout. I had tried using the bowflex and the total gym, but never had the strength to use them. This machine is not like that. I have only been using it for 2 weeks, 4 times a week, and cannot believe the change in my body already, and I feel like I am regaining strength each and every day. I could not be more happy. Highly recommend this to everyone.

    BodyCraft Galena Home Gym

    Product Rating:

Pros: Solid, clean movement, does everything. I like the pec fly movement compared to other brands.

Cons: I can't think of anything other than the local dealer I bought it from.

afiercepancake's Full Review: Body Craft Galena Home Gym with Leg Press&Stack

I bought the Galena with leg press and stack guards in and I am very pleased with it. All parts seem to fit well together and the operation is smooth. It's a pleasure to use and I'm no body building jar head.

In addition it just looks good, but that's no reason to buy one of these things. I particularly wanted the pec exercises this unit provides. The Body Solid, Hoist, and others seem to have a multi-levered action when doing these exercises, which may be advantageous. But for an amateur, that flexibility feels awkward to me. The Galena does allow for a flexible type of pec exercise, but again, I enjoy using the fixed elbow pec fly action most times, instead.

I might add that the other reviewer states the weight stack is for 200 lbs. However, when doing the leg press, the weight is doubled so you have a 400 lb range for that one exercise.

tiger850's Full Review: Body Craft Galena Home Gym with Leg Press&Stack

Excellent value for home gym. I shopped all around and found this to be a well constructed good priced unit.

Gym comes in 4 boxes and takes about 4 hours to build. But that was kinda fun if you liked building swingsets for your kids!

Reviews say the BodyCraft Galena combines a solid multi-station gym with a compact design (58" x 72"). All of the Galena's features, which include an adjustable pec dec, lat pulldown bar, abdominal crunch station, leg… curl, low-pulley station and 200-pound weight stack, are accessible from one side, which allows the machine to easily fit into a corner, further saving space. There is also an optional leg press (*est. $300), which extends the width of the machine to 92". Like all BodyCraft machines, the Galena offers a lifetime warranty on both the frame and the parts.

    BodyCraft Galena Home Gym

If you have done your research on home gyms or even if you're a keen gym enthusiast you may have come across the Multi Station Body Craft Galena Home Gym. If you havn't let me tell you that it's popularity is well deserved.

Due to the many excellent reviews upheld by the Body Craft Galena it is no wonder that it now has the right to display a consumer guide's recommended badge. It's worth taking note that this is only applicable to the best home gyms. After looking closer at this home gym and testing out we discovered that all the praise for this machine was true and 100% deserved. With its superb design and top quality materials it really is a gym to be worshipped.

The size of the Body Craft Galena home gym is not massive and it can fit right into the corner with little or no fuss, that is the beauty of this home gym. All the features of this home gym can be accessed from one side hence the fact it's a corner gym. The Body Craft Galena Home Gym contains tonns of extra features that surpas any gym in its field.

    Conclusion

This machine if you've not guessed it so far is one of the best machines we have reviewed. If you don't have loads of room for a home gym and you want a top quality multi station home gym then the Body Craft Galena Home Gym is what you want.

    BodyCraft Galena Home Gym

    Strengths:

The Bodycraft Galena Home Gym gives you the feel of a commercial gym both in construction and function - without the commercial price tag.

With over 75 exercises on a 200 lb weight stack you can work your chest, back, arms, shoulders, abs and legs - giving you a total body workout.

Bodycraft is a highly regarded name in the fitness equipment market and they're known for excellent, commercial grade construction. The Galena comes with heavy duty steel tubing and 7 x 19 strand 2000lb tensile strength aircraft cable.

The pulleys are fibreglass reinforced nylon pulleys with sealed bearings. These are the things you would expect to find only in commercial gym equipment.

The dual-function pec deck provides the option of performing traditional flys (pressing elbows against the pads) and dumbbell style flys (grabbing the handles and swinging outward at chest height).

The bench press station with adjustable starting point, seat and backrest allows for different sized users and also gives you a variety of exercises including bench press, incline press, shoulder press and mid row.

One of the unique things about the Galena is that it is built to fit right into the corner of the room - which minimizes space requirements.

The Galena has also garnered a "Best Buy" from Consumer Guide. User reviews of the Body craft Galena are high as well, garnering 5 out of 5 stars on average.

    Weaknesses:

It's really hard to find a weakness on this machine, except for maybe that the 200 lb weight stack may be too little resistance for an experienced weight trainer. For most people though, the Galena is more than enough and is built to last for years.

    Overall Conclusion: Highly Recommended

The Bodycraft Galena is one of the Best Multi Station home gyms under $1800. it offers extremely High Value for your money.

Overall, the Galena hits a homerun: superior construction, space efficient, excellent reviews, wide variety of exercises that will work your entire body, unique features that no other gym has - like the dual function pec deck and corner fit design - and of course the price is extremely affordable.

While you can get it cheaper without the leg press or stack guards, for the little bit extra we would recommend the full Bodycraft Galena with stack guards and leg press. It will give you everything you need and last for years.

    BodyCraft K2 Home Gym

    BodyCraft k2 Strength Training System

The BodyCraft k2 Strength Training System has as its hallmark versatility, and it all begins with the traditional horizontal bench press design, which allows for proper angles of decline, flat, incline, and shoulder presses.

The bench is easy to adjust and, if preferred, removable, allowing for squats. Exercise charts are mounted right to the machine. The versatility comes into play with the Adjustable Cable Arms.

A trademark of BodyCraft products, these Arms provide access to every exercise that can be performed with dumbbells, sports-specific exercises, lifestyle-type training (such as putting heavy items on a shelf), and core training type exercises. All roller pads are upholstery covered--a new upgrade for BodyCraft machines.

The leg extension /curl station automatically adjusts to the user’s leg length. Adding to the durability of the product, the system uses industrial pillow block bearings for a smoother movement action.

Best of all for home users, the design of the BodyCraft k2 Strength Training System allows for placement in a corner, leaving room for other equipment in the room.

BodyCraft X2 (Family Xpress) Home Gym

    BodyCraft Family XPress

BodyCraft Family XPress is a machine that is a solid investment with returns for every member of the family.

This unit includes two weight stacks, a bench press station, a cable station, ab crunch station, low and high pulley stations, a leg extension/curl station, and a leg press station. The seats and backs are fully adjustable to fit every member of the family, with forward and tilt adjustments to vary exercise positions. Heavy-gauge vinyl is double stitched with a high-density foam filling contoured for lumbar support and maximum comfort.

In the stack station, precision-milled, steel-alloy weight plates exhibit the quality built into the product. Using EZ Glide nylon bushings over chrome-plated guide rods, the plates are enclosed in a perforated steel casing for safety and reduced noise, not to mention a cosmetic enhancement, giving the unit a more finished appearance.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BodyCraft X2 (Family Xpress) Home Gym

If you have more than one fitness buff in your family, the BodyCraft X2 home gym accommodates multiple users with two 200-pound weight stacks, an adjustable-position cable system for dumbbell-type exercises and an… abdominal crunch station. There is also an optional hip station or knee raise/dip station. The leg press has a 2:1 weight ratio, allowing up to 400 pounds of resistance. Unlike the Hoist V5, this home gym doesn't have a pec dec (for working pectorals), and it takes up a lot more floor space.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BodyCraft Xpress Strength Training System Home Gym

    BodyCraft XPress Strength Training System

BodyCraft built the XPress Strength Training System with quality visible to the eye. The heavy frame has a Silver Vein finish and double-stitched vinyl upholstery with added lumbar support to provide extra comfort to the user.

Although it's a little intimidating at first glance, you'll soon discover that you've gotten a lot for your money with the XPress Strength Training System from BodyCraft. There's a bench press station, cable station, ab crunch station, low and high pulley stations, leg extension station, curl station, and an optional leg press station.

The optional leg press station adds about $400 to the price, but for the complete full-leg workout is well worth the cost. In addition to the workout stations, the perforated steel weight stack enclosure not only makes for quieter workouts, it looks better, too.

With all the different exercises that can be done on the BodyCraft XPress Strength Training System, it’s easy to develop a sport-specific program.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BodyCraft Xpress Strength Training System Home Gym

The Bodycraft Xpress home gym is one of two home gyms in my reviews that utilize free range of motion handles to perform your exercises, the other gym is the Body Solid Cable Action gym which has been discontinued.

The Xpress gym has been the most popular Bodycraft model because of its' unique design and compact dimensions that make it a good fit for most home gyms.

What sets the Xpress apart from other home gyms is the ability to perform an exercise without the limitations placed on your body by traditional machines has its' advantages.

The cables and handles on the Xpress let you simulate free weights and perform sport specific movements with great ease and efficiency.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    BodyCraft GX Home Gym

Sure, you're fit. But are you functionally fit? The hottest trend in fitness today is "functional training," which means working out in a way that better prepares your body for real-life movements such as catching a pass, hitting a tennis ball or hoisting a couple of bags of groceries up the stairs.

Traditional weight machines, which lock your body in place and work your muscles in isolation as you do, say, a chest press, aren't functional because muscles don't normally operate in isolation.

Functional training, by contrast, is functional because you do it in instability; as you do that chest press, your core works overtime to balance your body and a host of surrounding muscles strain to support your prime movers in multi-joint movements. Some functional zealots won't touch a weight-stack at all in favor of flipping oversized tractor tires, but those still in the gym are gravitating to free weights, body-weight exercises and machines with omni-directional cables, like the home gyms reviewed here.

    -- Roy M. Wallack

    The hybrid

BodyCraft GX: Half-breed that adds multi-position functional cable outrigger arms to a traditional fixed-path gym.

Likes: Nice variety. The option of doing both functional and fixed-path movements enhances your workout. Adjustable seat and seat back allow standard range of presses and mid-row. Low pulley with foot-plate allows for low rows and leg exercises. You also get a traditional seated leg extension (but not a seated hamstring curl). The GX is a good deal, as the price is low compared with similar hybrids.

Dislikes: 150-pound stack is definitely low for traditional presses; 200 pounds optional.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BodyCraft Xpress Strength Training System Home Gym

The Bodycraft Xpress gym has been the most popular Bodycraft model, due to it's unique design and small size, that make it a good fit for small home gyms.

One of the best features of the Bodycraft Xpress is the free motion cable system. The cable system offers the advantages of free weights, with the safety and convenience of a machine.

You can easily simulate free weight exercises like core training, functional sports training and many movements that a typical fixed motion machine like the Bodycraft Galena will not.

The Xpress is also a highly adjustable home gym with a seat that accommodates large and small users alike, and makes it ready to get into the proper alignment and biomechanical position for each exercise.

The bench press station has an adjustable starting point that makes it feel more like lifting traditional free weights. Couple that fact, with the fully adjustable tilt feature of the seat back and the "doubling cable" which increases the resistance in a 2:1 ratio of up to a 400 pounds of resistance, and you have a very ergonomic pressing station that rivals machines you'll find at the health club.

Each of the cable arms has a separate cable (w/ swivel handle) and is able to raise and lower up to 160 degrees to perform a full array of 'free weight mimicking' exercises, without the danger and expense of having a full set of dumbbells.
